Second pattern Garda capbadge, with the modernised spelling of the word “Siocana”, that is without the “t”. This particular badge has been chromed. The practice of silvering or chroming police badges was common from the times of the DMP onwards. More Info »

This is a single three stripe chevron for the rank of Garda Sergeant. High quality manufacture comprising silver bullion wire stripes stitched onto a black woollen backing. Very good condition and quite old .About 12.5cms wide.
