Early period white metal Garda cap badge, first pattern

White metal cap badge with two lugs to reverse. This was the first style of cap badge worn by the Gardaí. This is because the word “Siotcana” has the letter “t”. This “t” was dropped when Irish grammer was revised. I’d date this particular example betrween 1922 to 1940′s
