First World War, Irish Medals, belonging to Daniel Molloy. (1214)

Tipperary items 019

Nice Great War pair of War and Victory medals. These were issued to Daniel Molloy.  Pte. Molloy served with the Royal Irish Regiment and Labour Corps.  His medal index card included, shows his date of entry into the war as 2.1.15.  Molloy was discharged on 3.5.1918. Pte. Molloy was entitled to a Silver War Badge, so he was most likely wounded and then sent to the Labour Corps. The medals are officially engraved “390431 Pte. D. Molloy Labour Corps”  A nice reasonably priced pair of attributable medals, worthy of further research.

These medals have their original ribbons and pins to the back, obviously worn with pride.
