This medal was awarded in 1972 to all members of An Garda Siocána who served during the Jubilee year of 1972. Gilt coloured medal, issued unnamed.
Medal obverse: A pentagon type design comprising ten stars, each with five points, thus representing fifty years of service. The letters “GR” are in a circle.
Reverse:- A Roman style column representing the pillars of justice and a scroll inscribed “Iubaile Orga 1922 – 1972″ Gaelic for Golden Jubilee
