This set comprises two buttons, one is large the other small. Gilt open back type as worn by Chaplains to the Irish Defence Forces. Scarce.
The obverse design on these buttons comprise a stylised Celtic design in the shape of a cross. The inner central device is the Irish Defence Forces “FF” symbol. Most unusual, I have seen a few blackened brass ones in my time but never open backed gilt, I wonder are they for a dress uniform ?
