
This medal is in excellent condition. It was awarded to all those who served for the qualifying period in the Irish Free State Defence forces during World War Two in a permanent capacity in either the Army, Navy or Air Corps.
The reverse has the Gaelic inscription “Fórsaí Cosanta 1939 – 1946″ This is Irish for “Defence Forces”
The suspension brooch on reverse is stamped “QUINN” This is the Dublin based manufacturing company that also made badges for the Irish Volunteers.
