Irish Emergency Period, “Local Security Forces” Badge. (1227)

Irish harp on a black enamel background.  Badges such as this one were worn by members of the Irish Emergency period  ” Local Security Force”. (L.S.F.)  In Irish they were called “Na Caomhnoirí Aitiula”, hence the letters “CA” on the badge.  In effect this was a civilian, unarmed, support to the Irish Police during the  “Emergency” in Ireland.
