Description

This is a nice large sized tunic button, produced from compressed blackhorn with King’s crown above the Irish harp and surrounded by the words  ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY.

This is most likely a large tunic button.  It is maker marked JOHN IRELAND & SON DUBLIN on the reverse.

This button is 26mms in diameter approx and is in very good condition.

John Ireland of Ellis’es Quay Dublin was the outfitter that supplied the majority of uniforms and equipment to members of the RIC and DMP.
