The 87th Royal Irish Fusiliers Regiment of Foot – a pre 1881 example of an enlisted man's button worn on the epaulet or uniform cuff. Excellent condition. I have a few of these in stock should you require more than one.

This button is in superb condition and with a light polish would be a pristine example of an early 87th numbered button to the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

The button is by Firman’s London. This retailer’s details are on the back of the button.

The button carries the Barossa Eagle ( a battle honour – the 8th Regiment Eagle was captured by the Royal Irish Fusiliers from the French and since then has been a prominent battle honour of this Irish Regiment.

Below the French eagle is the number “87” which represents the pre 1881 designation of the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

This example measures about 18mms in diameter.
