Description

A great piece of Wicklow Militia Memorabilia. This is a silver – plated fiddle pattern fork from the Mid Victorian era. It’s precise date is 1854.

The handle is engraved with a castle and the word “WICKLOW”. There’s extensive maker’s markings on the reverse. The marks are for Elkington & Co. and the date letter is for 1854.

As a matter of interest Charles Stewart Parnell served for a time with the Wicklow Militia. He may well have dined with the fork !!!!

Overall the fork is in very good condition with only very minor plate loss.
