On offer for your consideration is a circular, convex, die struck alloy brooch with a silver wash. The round brooch has a black, white and red enamel finish.

The brooch features a black enamelled circular outer border with embossed silver washed Gothic script, “Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Helferin”, (German Red Cross Helper).

The solid reverse features embossed script, “Ges. Gesch”., meaning, Gesetzlich Geschützt, (Protected by Law). On the reverse the brooch also has a maker mark -“DH”. The brooch is in good condition with all the enamel intact. There is a slight bend on the pin catch. This could be easily straightened with a bit of care.

The brooch comes with two portrait picture photographs showing the same DRK women. Both pictures were taken in the same photographic studio and one is dated 26th of November 1941.
