The Wound Badge (German: Verwundetenabzeichen) was a military decoration awarded to soldiers who were injured in combat conditions during the Great War. This particular example is die struck from brass and is blackened. Therefore this is the Third Class award given to a soldier who was wounded once or twice.

The badge is in excellent condition as is the pin/fastener on reverse.
