John Ireland was a well established outfitters on Ellis’es Quay Dublin. The firm traded from the Victorian era until the mid 20th century. John Ireland supplied uniforms and equipment to the military as well as being one of the leading suppliers to the Royal Irish Constabulary and DMP. During the post independence era, they continued to provide outfitting services to the Gardaí, National Army and other services as well.
It is probable ( though I don’t have sufficient evidence yet) that John Ireland also acted as an outfitter to the Irish Volunteers.
