Description
This copper and oval shaped badge is of distinctively Celtic design with both Celtic/Gaelic script and motifs. The badge obverse has the Gaelic style F.S.P. letters in old Irish font. The central number “C 830” refers to the unique identifying number issued by the Dublin Carriage Office to the conductor. Below that are the Gaelic words “FEAR STIURTA”. A literal translation here would be The man (fear) stewart.
The reverse of the badge has two lugs and ohterwise is plain. This particular example is in very good condition with only minor service wear.
