Description
This is a fascinating original photograph of the 1st Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers. At the bottom of the photograph in printed form is the following:
DRUMS. 1st. Roy. Munster Fus Nowshera N.W.F. INDIA. ABOUT THE BEAT RETREAT.
In late 1911, the battalion received orders to depart Nowsera for Rangoon. It is likely that this image dates to around that time. A very interesting picture, worthy of further research.
The photograph measures appprox 28cms x 19cms. Detail is very good. Overall, condition is also very good. Slight folding to the edges and a couple of small tears to edges.
