This is a fine quality leather case, rectangular in shape and fitted with a brass locking mechanism. It was at the time, standard issue to the Royal Irish Constaulary and was worn on the black leather belt. This piece was originally designed as a pouch to contain handcuffs.
This is a particularly fine example of an R.I.C. case. The leather is in very good supple condition with no cracks or damage to the stitching are to be found.
The reverse has two leather straps which was used to secure the pouch onto the leather belt.
