Description
In my opinion, this is an original badge and not one of the many re-strikes that have been produced over the years from the original dyes. There is evidnece of some service wear, especially on the three crowns of Munster. This is also a good indication that it is an authentice badge. The badge has an unusual gold or gilt wash to the front.
It is a dye struck badge which comes from a very old Irish collection that I purchased recently. See images for more detail.
