The Great War Medal trio to Private Daniel Quinn of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.(1801001)

Three attributable medals from the Great War,being the 1914/15 Star, British War medal & Victory medals: all three medals are correctly and officially named to 23098 Pte. D. Quinn R. INNIS. FUS.

Daniel Quinn enlisted in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in March 1915. He served in Gallipoli and was subsequently discharged from military service on 23rd October 1916 due sickness. No doubt that this was due to his experiences in the trenches.

Daniel Quinn was also entitled to the Silver War Badge number 17005. On sale here are his full entitlement of medals being a 1914/15 Star in very good condition – uncleaned the medal has a lovely attractive bronze patina. The 1914-1918 silver war medal is also in very good condition and is uncleanded. The Victory medal is in good condition also but with some loss to original gilt wash particularly on the back. Ribbons are replacements.
A great trio to a famous Irish regiment, worthy of a great deal more research.
