The Royal Ulster Yacht Club button is a really attractive shiny gilt button, in excellent condition, it comprises a Victorian crown above the Red Hand of Ulster and the words “Royal Ulster Yacht Club” on the button circumference. The button is maker marked on reverse “Firmin and Sons Ltd, London”. This is a closed back officer quality piece.
The second button is marked “Belfast Harbour” around the circumference with a central fouled anchor. Interestingly, the maker’s logo on the back of this button has the Greek Key decorative border. This is a linear meandering design that I’ve also noted on the back of some early Irish National Army buttons.
The third and slightly smaller button is the “Ulster Steamship Co. Limited” button the name being on the circumference with a central Red Hand shield. This button is maker marked “Cardiner & Comp. London”
