Two great old buttons from the University of Dublin, OTC. These are original items from the early 20th century.  The Trinity College O.T.C. was the only Officer Training Corps, called upon to defend its own College during a time of conflict. (The Dublin Rising, 1916).

Description

Both buttons comprise of a central Dublin University crest, with a King’s crown above, thus dating the buttons to the 1902/1922 period.  Around the circumference of the buttons are the words DUBLIN UNIVERSITY OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS.

The large brass button measures 26mms approx and is maker marked J.&B. PEARSE &Co. LONDON.

The smaller brass button is approx 16mms in diameter and has no markings on reverse.
