The badge retains almost all its original black paint over the die struck brass oval shaped badge. Excellent pin construction to rear an in great working order.
One of the really appealing aspects of this particular wound badge is that it is maker marked. On researching the maker number “L/11”, it is possible to identify the manufacturer and where it was produced. L/11 is the code for the firm of Wilhelm Deumer, the firm was based in Ludenscheid. This firm made numerous items for the military including badges and iron crosses. A good original item from the war and 100% original.
