Description

Frederick Catlow was awarded the 1914-18 War and Victory medals. He also saw service with the Middlesex Regiment.
The naming on the medal is crisp and clear. There is loss to the original gold wash on the medal. The medal ribbon is a replacement.
This is an interesting medal to a soldier of the Royal Irish Fusiliers who earned his promotions and stripes during the course of the Great War.
Sjt. Catlow served with the First Battalion The Royal Irish Fusiliers. This is a medal worthy of further research and perhaps his 1914-18 War medal is out there somewhere.
