Description
Here we have four identical post cards that were produced in 1988. They depict a Russian side drum circa 1854 captured at the battle of Inkerman. On the right then is a 2nd. Battalion Connaught Rangers crum circa 1905. A note on the back of the card explains this and with the additional information that the “vandyke hoop” pattern was adopted in imitation of the caputred Russian drums used by the regiment.
You are buying four cards here, so why not keep one and give the remainder to your Connaught Ranger collecting friends.
