Description
This is a wound badge awarded to a German soldier who served in the Great War.
It is the 3rd Class award being blackened, pressed metal in design, the other grades being silver and gold. The 3rd class wound badge was awarded to soldiers who were injured once or twice by hostile fire or by air raids.
There is a nice pin and clasp type construction on reverse. This is in full working order. The badge is also D.R.G.M marked on the hook clasp. The D.R.G.M is a type of German/Austrian patent.
