Tho original image on this post card was taken from a portrait photograph of the Bishop done by Lafayette, Dublin.
This particular post card was produced by Powell Press, 22 Parliament Street Dublin.
There is a hand written note on the reverse which reads as follows: “Most Rev. Edward O’Dwyer (1844 – 1917), Bishop of Limerick, supported the 1916 rebellion, endeared himself to the people of Ireland by his manly stand on behalf of Sinn Fein”.
This original card from the 1916 era is in very good condition.
